Rock and Roll Icons
Photographs by Patrick Harbron
This collection is taken from Harbron’s rock and roll concert and portrait photography of influential musicians and groups of the 1970’s, 80’s and 90's, captured at pivotal moments in their careers. Many of the photographs in the collection have been published and exhibited but this archive includes scores of unpublished images that are now available.
Harbron photographed artists such as:
Bruce Springsteen, Blondie, Deborah Harry, Tom Petty, Rush, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Madonna, The Police, Prince, KD Lang, Dire Straits, The Cars, Van Halen, Elvis Costello and Journey early in their careers.
He followed these artists to prominence and others that were already well known including:
The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Blondie, Ray Charles, Prince, Billy Joel, The Police, Eurythmics, Bob Seger, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Queen, Robert Fripp, Neil Young, Bob Marley, The Who, Genesis, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Peter Gabriel, Bob Dylan,Peter Frampton, Jeff Beck, Joe Walsh, KISS, U2, Aerosmith, Santana, Michael Jackson and many others.
The published work has been used for album, CD, DVD covers, books, magazines and for publicity and tour booklets.
Harbron has received numerous awards including two JUNO Award nominations for album cover photography. Some of his album work is included in the Taschen books "1000 Records Covers and Rock Covers".
